Who becomes a Fellow?
"The bonding that occurred in our group was one of the most important elements of the program. We came to trust and understand one another’s perspectives such that we opened surprising channels of learning and developed a real ‘fellowship’."
David Baron, MD
Primary Care Internist
Chair of Patient Safety Committee
Cambridge Health Alliance
"The HRET Fellowship program has a long history of driving change in health care. Since the program's inception, Fellowships have addressed community health, cardiovascular health, cultural competence, and patient safety."
John R. Combes, MD
President and COO
Center for Healthcare Governance
The Fellows are a diverse group of motivated and innovative health care leaders working in some capacity with quality or patient safety. They include:
- executive officers
- medical officers
- nurse executives
- risk officers
- physicians
- nurse practitioners
- infection control practitioners
- pharmacy leaders
- quality improvement leaders
- other health care professionals.
Sending a team of leaders to participate in the Fellowship is the most effective way to integrate and sustain the change initiatives nurtured by the Fellowship programs. Over 100 Fellows have participated in teams sent by their organizations, making the learning process rewarding and effective for both the Fellows themselves and their organizations.
